Jupiter Opposition November 2, 2023 ⬅︎
On November 2, Jupiter will reach opposition in earth's sky. This means:
* Jupiter and the sun are 180° apart -- on opposite sides -- in Earth's sky.
* Jupiter is roughly at its closest to Earth as Earth passes Jupiter in its faster, inner orbit.
* Jupiter appears larger and brighter than at any other time.
* Jupiter rises in the east about the same time that the sun sets in the west.
* Jupiter is visible all night long.
* This is an excellent time to view Jupiter in a telescope, but, the weeks before and after are also very good.
